Kalamkari is believed to have originated well before 3000 B. C.

The first year B.Des students took part in a two-day Kalamkari workshop conducted by an expert Mr. Ekambaram. Student were taught the process of line drawing, working with natural dyes, preparing cloth by washing with water and then milk, then applying the natural colour. Students got a first-hand experience in the process of natural dye preparations and the raw materials used for it. Students enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot about our traditional artwork. Take a look at the beautiful artwork created by our students.
