Details of the Event:

  • The Women’s Club of our department organized a panel discussion to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The event aimed to create awareness about women’s health, safety, and the challenges faced by girls and women, while also encouraging students to pursue careers in science.
  • The panel included distinguished speakers such as Dr. Aishwarya Parthasarathy (Gynaecologist), Dr. Nandhini Elumalai (Gynaecologist), Dr. Preethi Murali (Dermatologist and Aesthetic Physician), and Mr. Nallani Olivannan, B.L. (POSH Trainer and Investigator, External Member). The speakers shared their professional experiences and spoke about various issues related to women’s health, well-being, and workplace safety.
  • The session was interactive, where students actively participated and discussed their concerns and problems with the panellists. The chief guests responded to the students’ questions and offered valuable guidance and advice. The discussion helped students gain better awareness about women’s issues and encouraged them to speak openly and seek support when needed. The event was informative, engaging, and empowering for all participants.

  • For SDG 5 (gender equality ),  The panel discussion focused on women’s health, safety, and the challenges faced by girls and women in society and workplaces. It encouraged awareness, empowerment, and equal opportunities for women, supporting the goal of achieving gender equality.
