Details of the Event:

  • The SEAD Department conducted a “Vanga Pazhagalam” podcast session featuring two alumni speakers, Ar. Kiran (Batch 2018–2023) and Yazhini (Batch 2021–2025). The session aimed to create an open interaction platform where current students could connect with alumni and understand professional life after graduation through direct conversation and shared journeys.
  • Kiran shared his real-world architectural practice experience, explaining how academic learning translates into site work, client handling, deadlines, and teamwork. He highlighted the importance of internships, software skills, and communication in professional growth, and gave practical suggestions for students preparing to enter the architecture industry.
  • Alumna Yazhini spoke about her transition phase from college to career, higher studies planning, and portfolio development. She discussed challenges faced after graduation and how to stay confident and adaptable. She also shared how extracurricular participation and studio projects helped shape her skills and professional direction.
  • Both alumni reflected on their college life memories, including design studios, juries, late-night submissions, workshops, and friendships. They emphasized that these experiences built discipline, creativity, and resilience, and encouraged students to actively participate in all academic and co-curricular opportunities during their college years.

SDG Goals Outcome:

  • For SDG 4 (Quality Education), the vertical studio fosters inclusive, hands-on learning by integrating students from different academic levels, enhancing peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and critical thinking in architectural design.
  • For SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: The session guided students on career readiness, professional skills, and workplace realities, helping them prepare for decent employment and sustainable career growth.
